hahahaha.
Unless he's a 16mm guy.
However, the really cool thing about Super-8 cameras is that they also make excellent director's scopes.
So when he is discussing framing shots with a director, they can use the camera to help set their frame.
(that's a fallback in case he isn't thrilled with it as a camera), but if he isn't thrilled, divorce him and put up a new topic post here, Super-8 widow..... you'll get lots of responses.

as a matter of fact... he is a 16mm guy up to this point...but i'm about to change that! realistically, anything with film will keep his interest. who needs a fly on the wall when you have a camera running?
but of course if he isn't happy with it you'll see my new post:
"Super-8 Widow: Still young enough to train. Will support your interests if it means I can spend money. Come complete with one child and one dalmatian to **** out for movie extras!

"Penncrest" is a store brand name for JCPenney's...it was probably made by a manufacturer that had a deal with Penneys, then Penney's would put their name on it (like Sears using the Kenmore name)...it probably is a decent camera, but may not have all the fancy features since it was a department store branded camera. sounds like it was well cared for...worth having just for a collectible, but if you can get some filming out of it too, even better!

I just thought I would bump this for Klaas, who is interested in buying a Super-8 camera and wanted advice on where to start.

Well, it looks like another topic with 15 plus posts is burning, but not this one.
